Our mission is to ensure all East Central Energy members have access to reliable, high-speed internet. Just like our electric cooperative did in 1936, we plan to provide service to all members; not just those in highly populated areas.
As we continue to expand, we will target areas in ECE’s service area that for-profit organizations have traditionally overlooked.

In 1936, ECE started providing a service that dramatically changed the way members live. The cooperative is still working to achieve that same goal, this time focusing on fiber internet.

ECE Service Area
ECE service area extends from northwestern Wisconsin on the east to the Mississippi River on the west. It includes parts of Douglas, Washburn and Burnett counties in Wisconsin and parts of Aitkin, Carlton, Morrison, Mille Lacs, Sherburne, Kanabec, Isanti, Pine, Chisago, Washington, and Benton counties in Minnesota.

ECE improves the quality of life by safely providing reliable energy and related services, while embracing our cooperative principles. Our history is as rich as our commitment is deep. We began as a mere idea and have grown into the third largest utility in Minnesota, and serve members into Wisconsin.
