When is ECE Fiber coming to my area?

Recently, members have been asking questions regarding ECE Fiber’s five-year plan and the different construction phases. We’re here to help clarify!

The most common question we’ve received from members is, “Can you tell me when you’ll be coming to my area?” and unfortunately, we don’t always have a set answer. We understand that can be frustrating, but our construction schedules must remain fluid. ECE Fiber’s progress will be determined by where we’re able to secure grant funding and the amount of member interest in an area. 
 
Each June/July we will be solidifying areas to be constructed in the following year, and will update that information on the Service Area Map tab at the top of ecefiber.com. When you look at the Service Area Map, the green-shaded areas represent 2023-24 build areas, while yellow shading represents future year builds—however, the schedule for specific areas are subject to change.
 
2023 – Year 1
As we close out the first quarter of 2023, materials have been arriving and engineering prints are being finalized. This spring, we’re planning to start construction on May 8 in the Dalbo area. As we move into the summer, pre-surveys will begin, and the construction plan for 2024 will be finalized. Throughout the fall, we will continue construction to member locations until the ground freezes. Finally, this winter we would like to GO LIVE with our first fiber internet connections!
 
2024 – Year 2
As 2024 begins, materials will be ordered, and construction/engineering prints will be finalized. After the spring thaw, connections will continue all year and expand as construction allows. The construction plan for 2025 will be reviewed and finalized.
 
2025 – Year 3
As 2025 begins, materials will be ordered, and construction/engineering prints will be finalized. After the spring thaw, connections will continue all year and expand as construction allows. The construction plan for 2026 will be reviewed and finalized….
 
As you can see, we’re taking it month-by-month and year-by-year. Remaining fluid allows us to leverage time, materials, and grants to bring you world-class fiber internet at blazing fast speeds. Remember, we’ve been serving this area for over 87 years, and we’re not going anywhere. Our goal is to ensure every ECE member has access to high-speed internet!
